During the last
wind storm there was a sandwich that was blown to the top of a 27 foot oak tree.
This sandwich attracted a very hungry caterpillar that was determined to reach
the delicious sandwich. This caterpillar
could travel 4ft. during the day before he needed to go to sleep at night. While
he was sleeping he would slide back 2 feet. How many days will it take him to
reach the delicious sandwich?

Dr. Vick wants to make sure the concession stands at all of
the gyms are making a profit. Popcorn seems to be the best seller at all of the
concession stands. A 2 pound bag of
popcorn costs $5.00 at Wal-Mart. You can make 20 bags of popcorn from the 2
pound bag of popcorn. The concession stand charges 50 cent per bag. How much of
a profit are the gyms making off of the 2 pound bag of popcorn? Also, Dr. Vick
wants to know how many bags of popcorn to buy if we want to make a 25 dollar
profit?
3.
Target has the new Wii-U for sale for $250. You and your
brother have been saving for a long time. You have $68 and your brother has $62.
If your brother receives $5 a week for allowance and you receive $5 a week for
allowance, how many more weeks will it take you and your brother to get the new
Wii-U?
