News for you

The 3rd Grade News Sept. 19, 2011
Important Information:
Parent teacher conferences are tentatively scheduled for the week before fall break. More information will be sent out as we get closer to the date.
Math: We are working on a new method for subtraction.
Science: We are continuing to study electricity. I hope your children have been discussing all the fun activities they are working on at school.
Language Arts: We are working on different types of punctuation.
Reading: In the red group, we are continuing to read “Charlotte’s Web.” In the blue group, we are reading “The Tree House” and working on words that contain r-controlled vowels.
• Please remember to visit our blog at superteacher1.blogspot.com
• I am giving star ups for students who go home and spend some time on IXL.com.
• Your child can also access compass from the blog.

The only homework I am requiring is that your child read something for at least 15 minutes a night. If your child does not have books at home they may read their library book or check out a book from our classroom libraries. Please make sure they bring our classroom library books back to school each day.
Flip over

• Your child can take AR test every morning between 7:30 and 7:55. We do not have a lot of down time during the day to take tests, so please remind them in the mornings to take some tests.
Thank you,

Mr. Williams
Mrs. Fogle
