News for the Week

The 3rd Grade News Sept. 12, 2011
Important Information:
Parent teacher conferences are tentatively scheduled for the week before fall break. More information will be sent out as we get closer to the date.
 I hope you had the chance to come out and see your child perform at our music program. If you didn’t get the chance you can look for it on channel 73.
 We are extremely proud of the hard work and effort put forth by your children during our MAPS test.
 Make sure to sign your child’s behavior/agenda sheet every night.
Math: We are starting on subtraction using word problems.
Science: We are continuing with electricity and I have some cool activities planned for your children.
Language Arts: We are identifying different types of sentences.
Reading: In the blue group, we are working on short U words and reading “Priscilla, Meet Felicity.” In the red group, we are working on story elements and continuing to read “Charlotte’s Web.”
The only homework I am requiring is that your child read something for at least 15 minutes a night. If your child does not have books at home they may read their library book or check out a book from our classroom libraries. Please make sure they bring our classroom library books back to school each day.

Please remember to visit our blog at superteacher1.blogspot.com. I am still working on updating the blog, but there are several sites that your child can explore.
• Your child can take AR test every morning between 7:30 and 7:55. We do not have a lot of down time during the day to take tests, so please remind them in the mornings to take some tests.
Thank you,

Mr. Williams
Mrs. Fogle
