News for the Week
The 3rd Grade News October 17, 2011
Important Information:
We hope everyone had a great time with your children last week! Last nine weeks flew by and your children were awesome! Report Cards will be coming home soon.
We would like to thank all the parents who came to parent teacher conferences. If you did not get a chance to stop by, we hope to see you next time.
Our first field trip is scheduled for Oct. 27th and we will see the Shangri-La Chinese Acrobats. Please if you have not paid for the field trips pay by this Friday.
Math: We are starting multiplication this week and we will spend several weeks on it. IXL would be a good place for your children to practice their multiplication facts.
Science: We will start back with Science next week and our topic will be on heat. I have to say there are several little electricians in our third grade.
Language Arts:
Blue Reading – City Critters, Nonfiction Elements, Elements of Writing
Red Reading – The Kid in the Red Jacket, CAFÉ Menu, Elements of Writing
Flip over
Please remember to have your child to do their 15 minutes of reading and if they want to get on the blog and do IXL or Compass that would be outstanding!
AR testing in the morning from 7:30 to 7:55. We are happy to announce that Mr. Williams class will be able to take AR tests during the day on Wednesday’s and Mrs. Harrison’s class will take AR tests during the day on Friday’s.
Mr. Williams
Mrs. Harrison

A battery operated car
Hunter's group was the first group to make a Craft stick car. The car was made of craft sticks, bottle caps, rubber bands, ticky-tack, a battery and a motor. The groups made several attempts on the designs of their cars. I am so proud of your children for their hard work and determination during this project!
Parent Teacher Conferences this WEEK
We would like to thank the parents who came to conferences last night. If you didn't get a chance you can come tomorrow night the 6th from 3:00 to 6:00. We hope to see you!
